James G. Tanner, Sr., 70, died Sunday afternoon,
Nov. 20, 1983 in an Atlanta, GA hospital.
He was a long time resident of Chattanooga before
moving to Ft. Oglethorpe, GA., where he retired from the Walker County
School District.
Mr. Tanner was a member of the Thompkins Masonic
Lodge, 466 F&AM.
Survivors include eight daughters, Mrs. Betty
Whaley, Alexandra, VA., Mrs. Marjorie Capdau, Atlanta, GA., Mrs. Charlene
Estes, Nashville, TN., Mrs. Shelvia Livingston, Atlanta, GA., Mrs. Joyce
Gaines, Atlanta, Mrs. Wanda Ho, Huntington Beach, CA., Mrs. Brenda Greenway,
Atlanta, and Mrs. Linda Loveless, Duluth, GA. one son James G. Tanner, Jr.,
Dallas, TX; two sisters Mrs. Mamie Turner, and Mrs. Della Owen, Chattanooga;
brother Andrew J. Tanner, Manchester, TN.
Services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 22, 1983, at 2
p.m. in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home. Interment will be
in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
