A. Tanner, Sr.

Robert A. Tanner Sr. He was an employee for 37 years with the Lookout Oil and
Refining Co. and more recently a guard with Security Guards Inc. at the
American National Bank in Rossville, died Monday, March 19 at a local
hospital.
Mr. Tanner was 65 and lived at 1908 E. 26th Street. He was the husband
of Mrs. Mildred Monds Tanner and a member of the Ridgedale Church of Christ.
Surviving besides his wife are two daughters, Mrs. Jeanette T. Farmer and Mrs.
June T. Cooper, Chattanooga, and son, Robert A. Tanner, Jr., a lieutenant with
the Chattanooga Police Department.
Two sisters, Mrs. Della Beavers, Chattanooga, and Mrs. Mamie Medley, West
Memphis, Ark; four brothers, S. D. Tanner, Jr., Huntsville, AL; A. J. Tanner,
Crystal River, FL; Harry T. and James G. Tanner of Rossville, GA. Seven
grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, in the East Chapel of the
Chattanooga Funeral Home, with Minister John Cupp and Minister Barry Gilreath
officiating.
Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, east.
