John Harvey Tate died at noon yesterday at his home, 1127
East Eighth street, aged 53, the cause of death being heart disease. Deceased
was born near Ooltewah, James county, and has resided in Chattanooga for twenty
years. He has been foreman of the Chattanooga Lumber company since its
organization. He leaves a wife. He was a member of the Royal Arcanum.
The funeral services will take place at 1 o'clock today at
Park Place Presbyterian church, of which deceased was a member, Rev. Lucas
officiating. Internment at Forest Hills. The following gentlemen are
requested to act as pall-bearers: J. Fred Ferger, F. A. Seagle, H. C.
Hulse, W. M. Fraker, J. H. Fisher, W. H. Hill, W. R. Weeks and W. J. McNeill.
