MRS. GERTRUDE TREECE, BUSINESS WOMAN, DIES.

Mrs. Gertrude Shauf Treece, well-known Chattanoogan, died yesterday morning at her home, 1814 Duncan avenue . She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Shauf.

A leader in the Chattanooga Business Women’s Club, Mrs. Treece for a number of years was connected with Schwartz Bros., a women’s store. After the death of Mr. Schwartz she was credit manager for Charles Rosenthal, who opened a similar store.

Mrs. Treece was a member of the Central Presbyterian church. In the Business Woman’s club she was treasurer at one time, and served as a member of the board of directors for a number of years.

Survivors are her husband, W. L. Treece; three brothers, Mitchell and Ed Shauf, of this city, and William Shauf, of Tampa , Fla. , and a sister, Mrs. Everett Leonard, of Lookout Mountain .

Funeral services will be held at the Central Presbyterian church at 2:30 o’clock this afternoon, with the Rev. G. Allen Fleece and the Rev. W. R. Johnson officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hills cemetery, with Wann’s in charge. Pallbearers will be nephews of Mrs. Treece. They are David, M. F., Jr., and Thatch Shauf, Willard Leonard, Preston Leonard and Harry Thurman.
