Prof. John L. Treece, aged 58, residing at

, died at
4 o’clock
yesterday afternoon in a local hospital, after a brief illness. Surviving are a
brother, Will Treece, of
Richmond
,
Va.
; and three sisters, Mrs. H. C. Carr, of Knoxville; Mrs. Ollie Moss, of Dixon,
Ill., and Mrs. A. L. Lazenby, of Chattanooga. Prof. Treece, an accomplished
musician, taught piano for many years. He was a member of
St. Paul
’s Episcopal church and of Damon lodge, Knights of Pythias. Funeral will be
held from Wann’s chapel Friday morning
10 o’clock
, the Rev. Oliver J. Hart officiating. Interment will be in the
Chattanooga
