Vandergriff, 68, Limerick Road, Clyde, Ohio, died Sunday in Providence Hospital
after a brief illness.
He was born on Signal Mountain, TN and attended the Signal Mountain
schools. He was formerly from Chattanooga, TN, moving to Clyde in 1947. He was a
member of Monticello Lodge No. 244 F. & A.M., Clyde Chapter No. 90 R.A.M.
and the V.F.W. in Clyde. He was employed by Glidden Paint Co. in technical
service as a troubleshooter, where he spent 32 years. He was a World War II Navy
veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Tressa (Miles) Vandergriff, whom he married
April 29, 1944; ond daughter Elizabeth (Becky) Cutright and one son, Richard
(Skip) Vandergriff, both of Clyde; four grandchildren; his mother, Lula (Gadd)
Vandergriff, Clyde; and one sister, Ruth Hill, Savannah, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jake Vandergriff and one sister,
Edith Brackett.
Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Mitchell-Auxter
Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, where masonic services will be 7 p.m.
today. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
Thomas Anastasi, Seattle, Washington, nephew of the deceased, officiating.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Foundation.
