Cleopatra B. & Rufus Monger



Cleopatra B. (Patie)  1869 - 1944 and  Rufus (Rufe) Monger 1875 - 1940

 

To all who knew her she was called Patie. In her father's Confederate (Littleberry Polk Robeson) pension application  in 1906; she is mentioned living in his home with her daughter Zepher Turney Robeson  (Mrs. Arthur Boyd after marriage).  After the first wife of Rufe Monger died, she married him prior to 1910.  He was a prosperous farmer in the Ooltewah valley.  Patie was a loving mother to her step children: May b. 1899; Fred G. b. 1901; Lillian b. 1903.  Rufe and Patie had two children the first an infant son, who died shortly after birth.  The second, a daughter Aley M. was born in 1912. She married Tom Z. Cannon and they had a girl Tommie K. Palmer.

 

Note:  like all women in this family line -- her complexion was flawless and without a wrinkle until the day she died.
