Steamboat, John A. Patten

This steamboat plied the Tennessee River between Muscle Shoals and Chattanooga in the early 1900's. It was built in Jefferson, Indiana in 1906 and burned in Bridgeport, AL in 1910. The John A. Patten was racing The Parker when The Parker blew up in the Tennessee River off the tip of Williams in Hamilton County. William Thompson was the pilot of the John A. Patten and Bob Allison was engineer. Jim Thompson was pilot of the Parker and Jess Allison the engineer.
