| This new publication, compiled by John Wilson and Nathaniel
Hughes and published by Signal Mountain Press, contains approximately
3500 short biographical sketches of men and women that served in the
Confederacy during the Civil War. Many of these were not born and
raised in Hamilton County, but at some time in their life, came and lived
here at least for a time. Much of the work was done from pension
files, the Confederate Veterans minutes from the Hamilton County Forrest
Camp, marriage records, death records, obituary records, cemetery
records, as well as census were searched carefully for this information.
This book is a must have for anyone with an interest in the Civil War or links to Hamilton County. |
