Hello, I am looking for information about Joseph Reynolds, lived in James Co, TN. He died in James Co on Jan 27 1905. A man by the name of J A Carman witnessed his death and helped bury him. The family was not listed in the 1900 census, but his widow was listed in the 1910 James Co Census and on the side of the census sheet is WEST OF GEORGETOWN AND OOLTEWAH ROAD. I am trying to locate a cemetery in that area of JAMES Co and his grave site. Also, looking for information about the Doctor who attended him. The Doctors name was Jesse Eldridge, MD. Thank you for any help with this query. Bill Reynolds IL

Not the same William & Emma but could be the same Clark family. William had a couple of brothers that settled in the Chattanooga, St. Elmo area.

I'm trying to find evidence of Frank C. Murphy's citizenship because I haven't been able to find naturalization papers for him. Where would I find and how would I access voting records from 1900-1940's?

In the book, James County, A Lost County in Tennessee on page 131 it reads in part ....Alfred King was born June 10, 1804 In Guilford County, North Carolina. His father was William King and his mother, Abigail Lee King, daughter of Henry and Sarah Sholar Lee....Alfred King migrated from Guilford County North Carolina, to McMinn County TN in 1823. In 1826 he married Susan Matthews, daughter of John Matthews, whose father, James Matthews served in the Revolutionary War from Orange Co NC. No mention of any siblings and/or their names of Alfred King. Additional information on Alfred King in John Wilson's book, Early Hamilton Settlers. My grandfather was named Alfred King Eldridge. I haven't figured the connection between the Eldridge's and Rev King. It could be that my g-f wasn't named after Rev Alfred King.

Dr. J C Eldridge was my father's uncle. He only had one arm. He had a son also named J C Eldridge who was a doctor. The first Dr J C Eldridge is buried in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. He was born in 1845 and married Mary McGill. In either 1906 or 1916 he and his wife lost 3 of their children and a daughter in law when the ferry they were on capsized on the TN river near Igou Gap. I haven't come across the Reynolds name in my research on the Eldridge families. Dr J C Eldridge's father was Simeon M. Eldridge [not the Revoluntionary soldier. Simeon lived in the Blue Springs area of James County. Dr. J C was the oldest of Simeon's and Nannie children.
