Sale
Creek, Tennessee takes its name from a sale held on its banks, of confiscated
property taken from the British and Indians, by General Evan Shelby and his
troops after their expedition into the Chickamauga country in 1779.
The
first white settlement in Hamilton County was made on this creek in 1807, when
it was a part of Rhea County. Located 30 miles north of Chattanooga on Highway
27.
