The Hamilton County Tennessee Genealogical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation of the history and genealogical records of Hamilton County Tennessee. The primary purpose is to provide an online format for the documentation and publication of these records for use by anyone with an interest in Hamilton County.

  Membership in the Hamilton County Tennessee Genealogical Society is open to anyone with an interest in the preservation of Hamilton County history and genealogy. Members will receive E-mail notification when new information is added to this web site and when new messages are posted to our message forum. Members are eligible for discounts on publications offered by the society. You will also gain a wealth of genealogical information and the satisfaction of knowing that your family history, and the history of Hamilton County,  is preserved for everyone.

    There is no financial obligation in becoming a member of the Hamilton County Genealogical Society. Our funding is derived from contributions, the sale of publications and genealogical services that we provide. The only requirement for membership is an annual submission of one genealogical or historical document for publication on this web site. The submission may include, but is not limited to: obituaries, cemetery surveys, biographies, GEDcoms, wills, deeds, census transcriptions, family histories, family photos, tombstone photos, or Bible records. The submission must pertain to Hamilton County Tennessee and must not contain any copyrighted materials that you do not have permission to use. All submissions will be posted on this website with credit given to the submitter. If you wish, your e-mail address will be included with your submission so that you may be contacted by fellow researchers. You may submit material as often as you wish. 

If you do not have family information available to post on the web site but would still like to become a member, a small donation would also add you to our membership rolls. 

  To become a member of the Hamilton County Tennessee Genealogical Society, E-mail your name, address, phone number, E-mail address, surnames you are researching  and your information to Dennis Wilson at the address below. Please let us know if you want your E-mail address posted on the website with your information. Your personal information will be kept strictly confidential and will not be used without your expressed permission. 

    Documents should be submitted in Microsoft Word (*.doc), Microsoft Works ( *.wps), or Text ( *.txt) formats. GEDcoms in .ged format. Photographs should have one of the following extensions: (*.gif), (*.jpg), (*.jif), (*.jpeg) or (*.bmp). Databases can be in Microsoft Works (*wdb), Micrsoft Access (*mdb) or Microsoft Excel (.xls).
